ABOUT

Totternhoe Players Amateur Dramatic Society was founded in 1989 by Joyce and Geoff Brown, who ran the local village store. Joyce had just written a pantomime and managed to get a group of actors together who were willing to perform "Jack up the Beanstalk". Two of those actors are still members now in 2022. For the first few years, the group performed at the Memorial Hall, then in 1993 they moved to their new pad, at the village school hall, where they are still based. Occasionally we perform out on location to bring a murder mystery play for other groups who book our services. Since their early days, Totternhoe Players have generally performed three plays each year: a pantomime early February, a comedy play early summer, and a murder mystery early autumn.

Summer 2020 would have marked our big 30th anniversary celebrations but Covid decided otherwise. Rather than putting everything on hold, our actors kept busy, getting together weekly on virtual platforms. This resulted in 2 Zoom plays which are published on our YouTube channel earlier this year.

I am really honored to be chairperson of such a fantastic group where camaraderie and having fun always takes center place. If you would like to join our mailing list or indeed our friendly and inclusive group itself, we would love to hear from you.
